SHIPPING MANAGER
Responsible for the supervision and development of department employees. Work with management of supporting departments to execute customer’s needs and requirements. Responsible for all outgoing shipping activities and to provide clerical and customer service assistance in the shipping and receiving of customer orders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide direct daily supervision of warehouse associates and logistics coordinator to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the warehouse.
- Work with Production Manager and Order Entry to expedite requests and resolve schedule issues.
- Supervises employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment.
- Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
- Directs movement of shipments including both dedicated trucks and LTL carriers.
- Responsible for Trucking, UPS and Fedex shipments
- Direct all dock activity to ensure safety, housekeeping, flow of work for associates Provide supervisory coverage for both 1st and 2nd shift and other areas as needed.
- Manages the examination of outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Checks the load of each truck to verify shipment is loaded safely and accurately
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials, supplies and finished goods.
- Enters shipment dates into system, sends out shipping notifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of Shipping supervisor experience
- Leading a team and driving positive change
- Experience using a Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel. AS400
- Education Level: High school diploma required
- Knowledge on DOT laws.
